Saturday's sundae

I offered to bring dessert to Christine's dinner. But I couldn't decide what to make or buy until the very possible minute.

That evening, as I strolled down the aisles at Whole Foods I spotted this gem.

Orange Creamsicle Ice Cream.

Decision made.

I made a batch of Peanut Chocolate & Ginger Granola earlier that week, so I brought a bag of that along with a tub of fresh whipped cream.

After the dinnerplates cleared, I gave everybody two scoops of the ice cream, generously layered the granola and whipped cream over it and finished each bowl with a tile of Poco Dolce's Burnt Caramel Toffee. Oh mah gawd, yum.

For a couple of minutes, we all stopped talking and the only sounds you could hear were crunch crunch crunch and clink clink clink.

It could have remained silent if anybody at the table was lactose intolerant or allergic to peanuts. But all was safe to resume social activity.
